Infant Class

3 months – 1 year

The best place for your infant is in their own safe space.

Sending your infant to childcare is a huge step. Our infant teachers will make sure that they feel safe, loved and ready for the world outside their mother’s belly!

In our infant classrooms, we work hard each day. Parents are assured their children are in good hands. Our parents are able to get some rest during this precious period of time when babies are just figuring out how things work around them.

Health and Safety

At TenderCare, we value your child’s safety and the health of our staff. Learn more about how we protect both children and teachers.

Our Infant Classroom Set-up

Here’s more information about our infant
classroom setup and safety measures

Shoe-Free Environment!

Infants are born with a natural curiosity that often leads them to explore their surroundings.

Little ones will feel at home in our shoe-free environment, with its soft and forgiving flooring that’s built just for their little hands and feet.

As soon as they can move around on all fours, it’s important for babies’ feet and mouth – specifically those little hands of theirs! – be free from germs.

Free and Clear Cribs!

We keep your little one safe and sound in our customized cribs that are made just for them.

We space out all of the pillows, use a firm mattress with tight fitting sheets to ensure safety from any potential hazards around or on top of it.

The cribs are see-though so we can monitor what is going on at all times.

Flexible Feeding Schedules!

Feeding times vary from child to child so we accommodate every schedule accordingly.

We have a policy to carefully label any breast milk or formula so that it doesn’t get mixed up with the other babies’ food in our kitchens!

We care for your baby, no matter which feeding method you choose. Just let us know your desired feeding plan.

The Day of an Infant

Though each infant has different sleeping and feeding times, our classrooms follow a daily schedule of learning and adventure.

Infants and toddlers are always together for group hour and to play outside in a safe environment.

The classroom is designed with explorer boxes that encourage sensory exploration of the world around them!

Explorer Boxes

Explorer boxes will help your infant explore common items while teachers closely watch over their exploration process.

Group Hour

Infants come together in small groups, every day for songs, story books and interactive time.

Outside Playtime

Infants spend at least twice a day outside, weather permitting. This is so much fun for them and it helps make sure they grow up strong!

Safety and Security

At TenderCare, our classrooms are places where infants can feel comfortable and safe. With our inclusive design, we build warm and secure classrooms!

Infant Curriculum

Infants are a crucial part of early childhood development. They’re starting to form connections and learn about people and things around them. This means learning happens even before children get the chance for more formal education.

This is why we provide age-appropriate resources and curriculum for your precious little one. At TenderCare, our goal is to help your infant learn and grow in a healthy environment.

Learning to speak

Throughout the day, caregivers provide opportunities for children to learn and grow through a variety of activities. One important activity is reading books together. Reading not only helps children develop literacy skills, but also exposes them to new words and concepts.

Another common activity is pointing out objects and naming them. This helps children learn to identify and label common objects, an important step in language development. Listening to baby babble gives caregivers an opportunity to guide proper pronunciation and intonation.

Developing creativity

When infants interact with the world around us, it helps their creative side to develop. For example, when they touch and feel different textures, they learn about how things work and how they feel. Listening to music helps infants to appreciate different sounds and rhythms.

Playing with toy instruments helps them to understand how music is created. All of these activities help your little one to develop their creative side and to understand the world around us in a new way.

Strong minds

The first year of life is an amazing time of growth and development. A baby’s brain triples in size during the first year, and all of the sensory organs are developing quickly. This is why the TenderCare staff provides opportunities for babies to explore their world using all of their senses.

In our infant class, we provide a variety of activities that help to stimulate your baby’s brain development. We practice memory skills by playing games such as peek-a-boo, engage all five senses with tactile experiences such as exploring different textures, and copy simple actions such as clapping our hands.

Making friends

Emotional safety is critical for infants. In the early months of life, babies are developing the ability to regulate their emotions and they need a secure, loving environment in order to do so.

Our teachers provide that environment by giving plenty of hugs and helping babies express their emotions through sounds, facial expressions, and movements. They also begin to make friends with other babies and teachers, which further supports their emotional development.

By providing a safe and loving environment, our teachers help infants lay the foundation for a lifetime of emotional health.

Infant Classroom Activities

Infants are given the opportunity to engage in creative activities that will help them grow and develop.

Our teachers provide guidance for any infant’s needs, no matter how specific they may be!

Learning Sounds

Little ones are able to imitate the actions and sounds made by toy cars and planes.

Block Buster

In this fun activity, infants get to knock down block towers as they problem-solve.

Sense of Touch

Infants explore their senses by touching and feeling blocky, squishy, and soft items.
