Our Preschool Classroom Set-up

Here’s more information about our preschool
classroom setup and safety measures

Hands on learning!

Your preschooler is likely to be ready for a little hands on learning (learning by doing). TenderCare teachers understand how vital this time is and that’s why it’s included in our classroom set up.

Hands on learning will prepare your little one for a more formal learning environment like kindergarten.

They will engage in activities like baking, gardening, scavenger hunts, and water experiments.

Literacy activities!

Preschoolers naturally become interested in literacy. This is why our TenderCare teachers are prepared to guide and support them.

At the preschool stage, the alphabet along with words and sounds are beginning to develop and our caring teachers will be with your little one every step of the way.

A Day in Preschool

Our caring teachers set a daily rhythm for preschoolers. This includes group time, story time, meals and snacks, and naps.

Most importantly, we make sure there’s lots of playtime (because we know so much learning happens when they play with attentive teachers nearby).

Group Time

Group time happens every day in each of our classrooms. In the preschool classroom, children come together to learn about working as a team. Teachers will read books, sing songs, and more.

Meals and Snacks

As any parent knows, mealtime with a preschooler can be a challenge. But at TenderCare, we make sure that every child gets a nutritious and well-rounded meal.

Outside Playtime

Most of our classes spend 20–30 minutes outside at least twice a day, weather permitting. At this age, kids are off running and exploring, using their imaginations!

Safety and Security

At TenderCare, our classrooms are places where preschoolers can feel comfortable and safe. With our inclusive design, we build warm and secure classrooms!

Preschool Curriculum

Our preschool curriculum is packed with activities, experiences and games designed to promote the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of your little ones.

These components can be divided into three broad categories: academic skills, social skills and life skills. Each category helps to prepare children for the next stage in their lives, whether it be kindergarten, first grade or beyond.

Building academic skills

Preschoolers are constantly learning new things and developing their academic skills. From learning the alphabet to counting to recognizing shapes, preschoolers are exposed to a variety of topics that help them develop essential academic skills.

And while preschool is certainly a time for fun and play, it’s also an important time for developing those academic skills. By providing preschoolers with opportunities to learn and explore, our TenderCare teachers can help set them up for success in school and beyond.

Sharpening social skills

One of the most important things that preschoolers can learn are social skills. These skills involve interacting with other children and adults, sharing, taking turns, and resolving conflict. Preschoolers who have strong social skills are able to adjust to kindergarten and beyond.

Spending more time with books

Most preschoolers love spending time with books. So, our TenderCare teachers support your early learners by exposing them to simple reading and simple writing skills. Reading and writing skills that are developed during the preschool years can have a big impact on your child’s future success.

Also, as they become more confident readers and writers, they’ll be able to express their thoughts and ideas better.

Creating art and using imagination

Preschoolers are incredible little artists, capable of creating beautiful works of art with just a few simple materials. That’s why our TenderCare teachers encourage their creativity by setting up art areas in the classrooms.

In their art projects, we include a variety of materials, such as crayons, paints, paper, glue, and scissors. Occasionally, we have extra fun with materials such as feathers, pom poms, and other safe and fun items.

Preschool Classroom Activities

Every day, our creative teachers guide preschoolers through fun activities that are just right for their age. Here are just a few examples!

Letter board name

This letter board name search is a perfect alphabet activity to teach children to learn to spell their names.

Paper towel art

In this activity, preschoolers develop their motor skills by creating art with markers while also learning about water absorption and mixing colors.

Create a group story

Preschoolers get in small groups and create stories from scratch. They often start with a simple idea or character. From there, they will add more details and events, gradually building up the story.
